Dental Outreach @ Ssese Islands – Dec. 2024

In December 2024, we successfully organized another dental camp in Bumangi, located in the Kalangala District on one of the Ssese Islands in Lake Victoria. Poverty is particularly severe on the Ssese Islands, and dental care is virtually unavailable. It was immediately clear to us: This is something we want to change.

Together with Sister Scholastika, the head of the St. Elizabeth Health Centre, and Good Hands Dental Care Africa, this camp became a great success. Sister Scholastika provided accommodations for the dentists as well as the necessary facilities, while Good Hands Dental Care Africa took charge of dental treatment and oral hygiene education. Our role was to ensure the financing of the project.

The following free services were offered:

• free dental treatments + necessary medications
• free dental hygiene kits
• Oral hygiene education and care guidance
• medications and follow-up care
