Medical Camp on the Ssese Islands, Kalangala – Bringing Healthcare to Remote Fishing Communities – Kasenyi Village

In January 2026, we once again organized and carried out a medical camp together with Sister Sikolastika from St. Elizabeth Health Center in Kalangala (Ssese Islands, Uganda). Our aim was to bring medical care directly to people in remote fishing communities—places where access to healthcare is often limited. This time, we visited the fishing village of Kasenyi.

A special focus was on dental care. Together with three dedicated dentists, we treated many patients who would otherwise not be able to afford treatment. The camp was also supported by the general medical team from St. Elizabeth Health Center, who provided medical consultations, treatment, and vaccinations.

Thanks to the close collaboration with our local partners and the dedication of everyone involved, we were once again able to provide free and straightforward medical care to many people. For many, it was their first visit to a doctor in years—and many had never seen a dentist before.
